“Sweet Spring” is almost there…
“Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.
Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees….”
(“A Prayer In Spring”,
excerpt from the poem by Robert Frost)
Warm and sunny welcome to our dear readers!
Cyprus Observer’s spring issue is to keep us “here, all simply in the springing of the year”, as Robert Frost elegantly put it. We are glad to present you local and global news, which is to reflect the island’s as well as the world’s spring events.
We have started our editorial letter with the poem since spring seemed to be the most appropriate time to do so 🙂 Isn’t it the season mostly associated with something poetic, romantic, fresh and vibrant?
Inspired by the sweet lullabies of birds, odours emanating from flowers, and gorgeous poppies, colouring the fields of Cyprus, many of us are probably in the mood of exploring the beauty of the nature, revealing new places of inspiration, in the strive to love the World and to be loved, and in the wish to sing, dance, and enjoy the life. That’s is simply the “springing of the year”, the pleasure of the days that flourish more and more, the wonderful aroma of spring, which signifies the awakening of Mother Nature.
This bearing in minds and souls, we share with you some of the interesting spots to visit in Cyprus: café “Soulist” with mesmerizing coffee and invigorating music as well as the place for the special breakfast that can be enjoyed on the sunny terrace of “De Liman” restaurant.
As for the dinner, why not to partake of the oven-baked “Kinza Style” pide with cheese in recently opened “R1” restaurant?
