The 7th Interaction and communication Platform for National Inter-Graduate Programs (ULPIEP) and the 11th Meeting of Chairpersons of Departments of Interior Architecture (İBBT), INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE FORUM was led by the Girne American University on 19th and 20th of April.
The forum was meant to connect delegates of numerous Turkish universities including Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar University, Medipol University, Özyeğin University, Antalya Bilim University, Bahçeşehir University, İstanbul Kültür Universty, Doğu Akdeniz University, Çankaya University, MEF University, Gaziantep University, Fatih Sultan Mehmet University and many more, as well as the president of the Turkish chamber of Interior Architects, Mr. Emrah Kaymak. Various topics such are Organizational Structure & Work, Educational Programmes, Academic Structures and Accreditation were discussed during daily workshops sessions.
Informative lecturers were also given during the morning sessions by invited and GAU lecturers. On the 19th of April Asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin Karaçar talked about Nanotechnological Materials, Kim Bennet shared her research on Sensory Approach to the Design of Interior Spaces. Next day followed with more interesting lectures by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alessandro Camiz that introduced XinLao concept and the Mies van der Rohe’s Curule Seat, Prof. Dr. Uğur Dağli talked about Interior Architecture Profession associated Sustainability and its Organizational Modeled Proposal. Assist. Prof. Dr. Carmelo Cascino presented a discussion about Yacht Interiors, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Valentina Donà about Modern Italian interiors. The last lecture was held by the visiting lecturers, Assist. Dr. Ahmet Sezgin and Assoc. Dr. Sezin Tanriöver apropos Project Competition for Interior Architecture Students.
Another important event held during the Forum was the students’ works exhibition. It was curated by Prof. Alessandro Camiz and Almira Khafizova and organized with the help of students committee.

Moreover, one of the forum’s goals was to exchange teaching and learning techniques and achievements, therefore, this exhibition was an important part of the overall event.
Visiting professors from many Turkish universities were positively surprised by the level of GAU students, as well as the integration of 3D modeling techniques, restoration, historical, and photo scan analysis already during the freshmen year.
